Crime Blotter for July 4 - July 11

— An officer was patrolling near Carolina Stadium late July 11 when he noticed two men arguing and carrying a pressure washer down Catawba Street. When the officer identified himself to the men, they ran away from him, but left the pressure washer behind. The officer followed them until they split off in different directions. The officer then returned to his car and circled the area, but couldn’t find either of the men.

—Three officers were eating at Chik-fil-a late July 10 when a man got into an altercation with a security guard there. The man went outside for ten minutes before approaching the officers at their table and telling one officer he was disrespected by the security guard and would “kick his ass, take his gun and shoot him.” When the officer told the man they would not let that happen and the man cursed at him. The officer then told the man if he did not leave the restaurant or stop cursing, the officers “would give him a place to sleep tonight.” The man cursed at the officer again, saying they could not arrest him, and the officer gave him five seconds to leave. The man cursed again and was arrested for trespassing.

—Found Drugs of the Week: Officers were dispatched to East Quad in response to a drug complaint on the afternoon of July 6. A student was moving belongings in to a room in East Quad when he found a jar of marijuana in the cabinet. The officers took the marijuana and submitted it into an evidence locker.
