The Daily Gamecock

In Columbia: Most Hyped

Not everyone will have the fortune of going to the USC Homecoming game this year, but it's not the end of the world. The Gamecock spirit can be found outside the stadium by going out and spending time with fellow USC fans. There are still places around town where fans can feel the hype of a football game without being in William-Brice Stadium, and  these locations are big on USC pride. So if you can't make it to Williams-Brice this weekend these spots channel the same energy that equals a day spent in Williams-Brice Stadium.

Wild Wings Café

Wild Wings Café in the Vista is a convenient alternative to the traditional gameday experience. The restaurant is covered in garnet and black, and staff members don Gamecock attire every gameday. Flat screen televisions line almost every wall and are tuned to the game for everyone to watch. Fans can enjoy a burger, some wings or a salad on a budget while they root for the Gamecocks to crush Furman.

Village Idiot

Situated in the heart of Five Points, Village Idiot is a well-known pizza joint to Soda City locals. But it's not just hand-tossed New York style pizza on the menu — Village Idiot offers a variety of salads, wings and sandwiches, as well. The game is always on, so there’s no need to worry about missing a second of the action. The room is set for large crowds and provides plenty of space for cheering.

Salty Nut Café

Fans love to hear that they won’t have to miss out on the traditional bag of peanuts found at the stadium. For snacking during the game, the Salty Nut Café provides fans a free bowl of peanuts. If fans are not in the mood for peanuts, the menu also includes Philly sandwiches, wings and nachos.
