The Columbia Police Department is mourning the death of Officer Stacy Case. According to WLTX, Officer Case was involved in a car crash Saturday night with a USCPD vehicle driven by Sgt. Allan Bolin.

Both officers were taken to Palmetto Health Richland Hospital, where Case later died. According to USC Chief Communications Officer Wes Hickman, Bolin is in stable condition in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Both officers were responding to reports of shots fired in the Vista at the corner of Lincoln and Gervais Street, which police later determined to be a suicide.
