Rico Dowdle kicked off an eventful Signing Day for South Carolina, as the three-star running back became the first Gamecock to sign his letter of intent Wednesday. Dowdle played quarterback at A.C. Reynolds High School (Asheville, North Carolina), where he racked up 63 total touchdowns as a senior. A whopping 51 of those touchdowns came on the ground, making it evident why Coach Will Muschamp intends to use Dowdle as a running back.
Dowdle committed to South Carolina on Jan. 8 after calling it his dream school when he was offered in December. He also had offers from Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech and others.
