Legendary former South Carolina and Florida football coach Steve Spurrier turned 71 Wednesday.

Spurrier guided the Florida Gators to a National Championship in 1996. He amassed more wins at South Carolina than any other coach in program history. Over the course of his career he was named Conference Coach of the Year on nine different occasions.

The Head Ball Coach took the reins at South Carolina in 2004. Under his watch the Gamecocks achieved three top-10 finishes, including a No. 4 finish and a win in the Capital One Bowl in 2013. Spurrier resigned as coach this past October.
