After a long wait, University President Harris Pastides announced the details Friday morning on Twitter for a free Darius Rucker concert on April 5 at Colonial Life Arena.
It's been six months since the concert was conceived, when a quick Twitter exchange between a USC student, Rucker and Pastides resulted in the agreement that Rucker would perform a free concert for USC students if the Gamecock football team got six or more wins.

It took another three months before the team got its sixth win over Western Carolina on Nov. 19. Fans waited for an anxious hour before Rucker confirmed that the win meant he would indeed be coming to campus.

But the wait for the date and location would be another three months (and five days, to be precise). Students and fans certainly didn't mind the wait, though, as Pastides' original tweet has been retweeted hundreds of times and students continue to share their excitement.
I'm not sure what I love more, @HarrisPastides, @dariusrucker, or @UofSC as a whole. Can't wait!! ? https://t.co/iAc1COi8oa
