USC released more details about the shipping and storage services USC is offering for items students have left on campus.
Students must pay a $200 fee for the shipping service. To use this option, students can log into my.sc.edu and, through the “View housing information” tab, select the pack and ship option and complete the accompanying form.
Students can then select a time to virtually meet with a Housing staff member to identify their belongings via a conference call. Once all items are marked for shipping, the items are sent to a storage warehouse before being shipped. Students will be contacted and given a final cost prior to shipment.
The cost is estimated to be sent to students around May 15, and delivery is expected to occur in June.
Students will have to pay a $200 fee for the storage service as well. Items will be stored in a third party warehouse until fall, and once fall arrives, students can pay $62 to have their items delivered to them. Students can also pick up their items free of charge within 24 hours of notice in the fall.
To use this option, students go through the “View housing information” tab on my.sc.edu, complete the form and set up an appointment to identify their belongings via teleconference call. The items will then be stored.
No new details have been provided about retrieving items in person. More details might be released by the end of May, according to an email from Housing.
