Brief: AAAS Zoombombing investigation ongoing

An investigation into the Zoombombing of the African American Association of Students' virtual cookout is progressing and USCPD has received a search warrant, according to USCPD Deputy Chief of Police Scott Prill.

On April 24, an unknown group of people entered the Zoom call of the virtual cookout and shouted derogatory and racist terms at the participants.

In an email statement, Prill said a search warrant was issued by a judge in “late April” on Zoom’s “security section.” This meant USCPD could request and receive information about the incident from Zoom headquarters in San Jose, California.

USCPD is still waiting on the information from Zoom.
