The SEC will have a conference-only football season of 10 games beginning September 26, according to Sports Illustrated. This delays the season by three weeks.
The ACC announced on Wednesday it would play an 11-game season with the option for one non-conference game, allowing the possibility for a rivalry games like Clemson and South Carolina. Currently, there is no planned game against Clemson.
The championship game will be held on Dec. 19.
The SEC made an official announcement on Thursday confirming the conference-only season.
