USC's board of trustees unanimously approved new head football coach Shane Beamer's five-year contract on Tuesday afternoon.
The contract is worth $2.75 million annually, and Beamer will be under contract through Dec. 31, 2025.
Beamer also has the chance to earn incentives based on the team's performance.
Beamer can earn up to $1.45 million in performance bonuses if he and the team accomplish all of the goals in the contract. If Beamer and the Gamecocks were to go to the SEC championship game, he would be awarded $200,000. If they were to win the game, he would be awarded $250,000.
Along with that, there are bonuses for being invited to and appearing in bowl games, ranging from lower-level bowls all the way to the College Football Playoff. Beamer would get $1 million if the Gamecocks were to win the national championship.
If Beamer is named the SEC coach of the year, he would receive a $75,000 bonus. If he is named national coach of the year, he could receive a $125,000 bonus.
If Beamer was terminated without cause before his contract expires, he would still be guaranteed 65% of his annual compensation.
