COVID-19 on campus: University dashboard reports 15 active COVID-19 cases

The updated COVID-19 dashboard reports a total of 15 active COVID-19 cases. 

Of the total cases, 10 are student cases and five are employee cases. The number of cases increased since the 11 cases reported last Tuesday.

Between Nov. 21 and Nov. 27, USC conducted 2,330 tests, with a positive rate of .2% for students and .6% for faculty and staff.

Of the 2,330 tests, 1,967 were student tests, and 363 were faculty and staff tests. 

Since Aug. 1, there have been 1,650 positive COVID-19 cases.

Students and faculty can find their testing schedules and locations for this week on the university’s COVID-19 website. Testing will be done at the Carolina Coliseum and the Russell House basement. Faculty, staff and graduate assistant testing will be done exclusively at 1311 Pendleton Street.

As of Nov. 27, it is estimated that the vaccination rate on campus is around 68.3% total between students, faculty and staff. The student vaccination rate is around 68.2%, the faculty vaccination rate is around 77.1% and the staff vaccination rate is around 64.9%.

The alert level is at 0.20 and is set between the “new normal” and “low” levels. The alert level is based on 11 factors, including campus testing, isolation capacity and campus case burden.
