A USC student was taken to the hospital after an incident at the Science and Technology building on Tuesday.
According to university spokesperson Jeff Stensland, there was no threat to public safety.
A Carolina Alert was sent out to students around 11 a.m. about the incident, saying to avoid Devine Street. Just before 2 p.m., the university cleared the alert and announced the road had re-opened to traffic.
The alert went out to students in case they had concerns about the scene, Stensland said.
