"I Can't Breathe" protestors march to Statehouse, Columbia Police Department from City Hall
Hundreds of protesters peacefully protested at the Statehouse on May 30. The protestors held a rally on the steps for almost three hours.
Protestors moved to the steps of the Statehouse to rally behind the guest speakers at the “I Can’t Breathe” protest on Saturday. Speakers shared their personal experiences with racism.
Before the march began, some protestors were given masks to help combat the spread of the coronavirus. Many protestors wrote the words on their mask “I can’t breathe” in honor of George Floyd.
Protesters gathered in front of the Columbia Police Department. Armed police officers lined the steps of the building.
