The No. 11 South Carolina softball team defeated Texas Tech 5-2 in the first game of the series on Friday night. South Carolina's defense prevented Texas Tech from having any runs after the fifth inning, allowing South Carolina to remain in the lead. South Carolina beat Texas Tech again on Saturday in a 1-0 game. The only score of the game came from redshirt junior infielder Natalie Heath hit a home run in the third inning, giving South Carolina the win. South Carolina lost to Texas Tech on Sunday 6-5 after struggling to find momentum in the sixth inning. The No. 11 South Carolina softball team is set to play the Clemson Tigers on Tuesday night in Carolina Softball Stadium for the Palmetto Series.
