The No. 4 University of South Carolina women's basketball team fell to the No. 7 University of Connecticut in a blowout 87-58 loss. South Carolina could not respond to UConn's offense and fell short for the first time at home since North Carolina State beat the Gamecocks 54-46 on Dec. 3, 2020. The Huskies ended the Gamecocks 71-game winning streak, which was the fourth longest in the history of NCAA Division I women's basketball. While not many, there were a few positives to note from the game. Sophomore guard MiLaysia Fulwiley had her 16th game with double digit points as well as freshman forward Joyce Edwards leading the team in scoring for the 12th time this season. South Carolina now falls to 23-3 on the season.
