The South Carolina Gamecocks swept the Sacred Heart Pioneers 3-0 in their home opening series of the 2025 baseball season. The No. 4 University of South Carolina women's basketball team fell to the No. 7 University of Connecticut in a blowout 87-58 loss. The Huskies ended the Gamecocks 71-game winning streak, which was the fourth longest in the history of NCAA Division I women's basketball. The No. 4 University of South Carolina women's basketball team fell to the No. 7 University of Connecticut in a blowout 87-58 loss. The University of South Carolina softball team has started its season 5-0 with new head coach Ashley Chastain Woodard. The Gamecocks hosted many teams in the opening weekend Gamecock Invitational that started Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025 and lasted through Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025. The Gamecocks had a successful weekend, defeating Virginia 7-6 and 5-4, Providence 8-0, Saint Francis 7-0 and East Carolina 1-0. The Gamecocks showed impressive teamwork after having a multitude of new members join the team this past off-season. The Gamecocks will continue its season on Feb. 13, 2025, when it faces off against Georgia State.

Put together by Gamecock Entertainment and Carolina Productions, Cockstock was a night of music, energy and school spirit, headlined by rapper Quavo with Mariah the Scientist as the special guest. The event brought together students and fans as they were connected to the high-energy performances. Both Quavo’s and Mariah's sets were filled with hits that had the crowd on their feet. The event, though postponed from Homecoming Week 2024, was enjoyed by many students.

South Carolina will end its season 9-4, with head coach Shane Beamer hopeful for the next season.

The six goals scored by the Gamecocks are the most in an NCAA game since they played Alabama State in 2016. The Gamecocks are now set to take on Minnesota in the second round of the tournament.

Members of the USC community gathered to witness student organizations team up and take the stage to showcase various highly choreographed dance routines. Spurs and Struts is viewed as a staple of the annual Homecoming week celebrations. sorority Kappa Delta and fraternity Sigma Alpha Epsilon won the competition on Wednesday.

Spurs and Struts is viewed as a staple of the annual Homecoming week celebrations. sorority Kappa Delta and fraternity Sigma Alpha Epsilon won the competition on Wednesday.
