USC kicked off the Christmas season on Thursday night with its 62nd annual tree lighting. The ceremony, held at the top of the historic Horseshoe, celebrated the annual Carolina Cares Holiday Donation Drive. The drive was hosted by Carolina Cares, a program of the Carolina Service Council. Carolina Cares partnered with the Salvation Army to collect gifts for underprivileged local children and holiday cards for deployed military men and women.

Student Health Services helped students relieve their end of the semester stress with a Pet-a-Pup event outside of the Thomas Cooper Library on Tuesday as part of a string of de-stress events provided by USC during the week before finals. The event aimed to relieve students’ stress and was free to students, faculty and staff.

USC’s 65th annual Tiger Burn was held on Monday night, with hundreds of students flocking to the Greene Street Intramural Fields to watch a 30-foot replica of Clemson’s mascot quickly burn to rubble. The rally kicked off a week of events preceding Saturday’s USC-Clemson football game.

The discussion, part of the "Momentum: Conversations for a Better World" series, was largely based on questions from the audience and the implications of Crisis Text Line as a nonprofit and human-run organization.

Registering for classes can be a stressful experience, and in recent years, online tools have become a big trend in easing the pain. Many students were dismayed when the popular online registration tool MyEdu announced it would no longer service USC, but other sites and tools within the University's own system have since taken effect.
