South Carolina athletic programs secure commitments from prospective athletes on Early National Signing Day

Gamecock Athletics saw an uptick in recruiting activity during late November and early December of this past year, as numerous incoming freshman prospects across multiple sports made their commitments to South Carolina official. With football's Early National Signing Day falling on Dec. 4, here's where the school's football and basketball teams currently stand in terms of recruiting for the 2025-26 season.

Timely defensive stops lead South Carolina football to victory over Clemson

The No. 15 South Carolina football team used timely defensive stops and turnovers to pick up a road win over No. 12 Clemson on Saturday. The Gamecocks held Clemson below its season average in rushing yards and made several key plays on defense, including a game-sealing interception by sixth-year linebacker Demetrius Knight Jr.

"South Carolina head football coach Shane Beamer and his "battle-tested" Gamecocks have not shown any signs of slowing down," sports columnist AJ Mann writes. "A lot can be said about the Gamecocks and the team's ability to compete this year, giving up second-half leads and conservative play calling at times. But one thing is clear: They've proven they're not just some miracle-like contenders — they're a force to be reckoned with."

South Carolina football rides explosive plays to victory over Missouri

The No. 21 South Carolina football team used explosive plays on offense to defeat the No. 23 Missouri Tigers on Saturday. Redshirt freshman quarterback LaNorris Sellers had a strong day through the air, and the Gamecocks overcame struggles on third and fourth down to pick up another win over a ranked opponent.


The No. 21 South Carolina Gamecocks took down the No. 23 Missouri Tigers in its second-to-last home game of the season on Nov. 16, 2024, at Williams-Brice Stadium. The Gamecocks defeated the Tigers 34-30, bringing its season record to 7-3 (5-3 SEC). South Carolina only have two more regular-season games left. Next weekend, the team will take on Wofford College in its last home game of 2024, and then it will head on the road to take on No. 20 Clemson on Nov. 30.

No. 21 South Carolina football defeats No. 23 Missouri Tigers in fourth-quarter battle

The No. 21 South Carolina football team defeated No. 23 Missouri on Saturday night at William-Brice Stadium. The Gamecocks pulled away from the Tigers in the first half, preventing its opponent from scoring a touchdown. But coming out of half time, Missouri came back taking over the lead from South Carolina. The Gamecocks managed to steal its first win in six years against the Tigers in the final minute of the game.

South Carolina lands No. 21 spot in College Football Playoff rankings

South Carolina entered the College Football Playoff Committee's top 25 for the first time this season ahead of its matchup against No. 23 Missouri. ESPN Analyst Rece Davis said the Gamecocks could be higher if a couple plays go the team’s way, but head coach Shane Beamer wants his team to ignore the noise.

Beamer, Gamecocks aim to snap 5-game skid against Missouri Tigers

The No. 23 South Carolina football team has its eyes set on snapping its five-game losing streak to the Missouri Tigers. Head coach Shane Beamer and multiple Gamecock players previewed their upcoming matchup against the Tigers Tuesday and are hoping to limit Missouri's offense while improving their own run game.
