The board of trustees approved the proposed 2023-24 budget that would keep tuition low and fund renovations and improvements to the medical campus and law school.

Carolina Food Co. staff returned a pair of tables to the Russell House dining hall after Black USC students and alumni took to social media when the tables were removed to accommodate orientation needs. The tables serve as an important spot for Black students to congregate and support each other, students said.

Herrick Brown, curator of the University of South Carolina’s A.C. Moore Herbarium, holds one of 140,000 dried plant specimens. Brown graduated from USC in 1996 with a degree in biology and has used this passion to pursue work in a variety of fields, including creating habitats for the animals at the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, SC.
Herrick Brown, curator of the University of South Carolina’s A.C. Moore Herbarium, works to create a pressing of a specimen to file. The herbarium's records are used to track plant populations throughout South Carolina and the world.
