USC College of Nursing aims to give hope, confidence to disabled, aspiring nurses

The USC College of Nursing and Susan Newman have begun a nursing initiative to include and diversify the nursing industry in the state of South Carolina, giving students with disabilities confidence and guidance. The first class of students will come next summer, as local partners such as Able SC, the Lexington Medical Center and Prisma Health are collaborators and recruiting students in the process.

On April 3 at Feathered Nest, this booth shows all kinds of home decorations, including pots, flowers and Easter decorations for customers.

New Cayce thrift, antique shop not your 'typical bright box retail' shop

On March 8, thrift and antique shop Feathered Nest opened in Cayce, providing a wide array of items for its customers. Vendors and the owner of the shop emphasized the uniqueness of the shop, as well as the treasure hunt that goes into finding the best items for each vendor to represent the shop and ultimately create the most potential sales.

Movie theatre Babylon Kino to foster local community for filmmakers, guests

An underground movie theatre called Babylon Kino opens its doors on Feb. 7 to the public with a showing of the 1988 film "Brain Damage." The theatre's owner and partners aim to establish personal connections with the customers and bring a home to Columbia for local filmmakers and videographers that's never been available before.
