Jeremiah Donati named new South Carolina Athletics Director

The University of South Carolina board of trustees announced on Tuesday that Jeremiah Donati will serve as South Carolina's new Athletics Director. Donati, who held a similar role at TCU before his hire, is set to replace former Athletics Director Ray Tanner after the latter's 12-plus year tenure.

Letter from 2 rival editors: The Daily Gamecock, The Tiger collaborate to create 1st rivalry series

Griffin Goodwyn and Griffin Barfield — the sports editors at The Daily Gamecock and The Tiger, respectively — first discussed a rivalry collaboration between the two newspapers in April. Now, with South Carolina and Clemson's annual football game on the horizon, The Daily Gamecock and The Tiger have decided to launch a project unique in both publication's histories.

2 months have passed since the Rivals in Red match. But how did it impact Columbia?

Williams-Brice Stadium hosted one of the largest sporting events in the state of South Carolina's history on Aug. 3, when English Premier League clubs Liverpool and Manchester United played a friendly match as part of the Rivals in Red Series. Weeks after the game took place, Gamecock Athletics personnel and local business leaders shared how it impacted the City of Columbia and if there could be similar large-scale events held at the stadium in the future.
