The history of the President's House includes a kleptomaniac blue jay, panty raids in the Women's Quad and a student relieving himself in Mrs. Patricia Moore-Pastides' herb garden. It is also one of student protests, enslaved people and desegregation.
Issues with the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system in the Humanities Classroom Building have led to safety concerns and a need to reduce the burden on the older building's electrical system. Professors express concerns about unsafe conditions in the building.
There are a total of 168 active COVID-19 cases on campus, according to the university's online COVID-19 dashboard for the fall semester. This marks an increase in cases compared to the 121 total active COVID-19 cases reported last Tuesday.
The Central Midlands Regional Transit Authority (COMET) has taken over campus transit operations and this brings several changes to the university shuttle system, including a rule that requires students to present their CarolinaCard before boarding campus busses.
While USC cannot mandate that students get vaccinated, all students will be required to wear masks indoors and participate in monthly COVID-19 testing.

The Presidential Commission on University History hosted a virtual town hall on Monday to discuss what it has done so far. It said its next steps include submitting a final report to President Caslen on July 1 and uploading resources to the commission website.

USC presented its Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), Experience by Design, on Tuesday in a virtual kickoff event. Experience by Design aims to promote beyond the classroom experiences and engage student groups with low retention and graduation rates in those experiences.
