The South Carolina and Clemson baseball teams will face off in the Palmetto Series over the weekend as the Gamecocks look to beat its in-state rivals for the second year in a row. The teams have almost identical 2024 records, and both are coming into the series off of wins.

With many players returning, head coach Beverly Smith believes team will be able to build upon the spark it had at the end of the last season. South Carolina will begin its season when it hosts the Carolina Classic from Feb. 9 to 11 at Beckham Field.
The South Carolina baseball team completed its first series in conference play with a sweep over Georgia. The Gamecocks scored 12 runs in two of the three games and clinched the series with a combination of strong starting pitching and offensive power.
Gamecock men’s basketball fell to Tennessee 85-45 in the two teams’ second matchup of the season. After losing by 43 in January, South Carolina could not muster much more of a challenge against the versatile Volunteers.
